The Adirondack Area Network (AAN) was created through the vision of 45 "Charter Members" who believed that advanced telecommunications would enhance educational opportunities, health care services, and access to information throughout the region. Since its creation, over 50 additional institutions from a wide range of geographic regions have expressed interest in joining the network.
